Typography is the craft of endowing human language with a durable visual form, and thus with an independent existence. (...) Typography remains a source of true delight, true knowledge, true surprise.

just a blues lover.

ok, I’ve noticed that you done show some interest in this page, so I should update it.

this blog is about the pre-war blues, considered from a cultural point of view. I’ll tell blues stories, I’ll analyse blues lyrics, I’ll write about bluesmen’s lives. whenever possible, I’ll associate the texts with clips and mp3 files available on the Internet. [nevertheless, I won't hotlink or infrige copyrights].

the posts won’t stress very much on the musical technique (there are lots of resources for guitar or harp players freely available, so I’ll try not to pollute the web);  they wont  be  too academic,  although  I’m sometimes  tempted to write studies instead of posts; they’ll be just blog entries, inspired from what I’m listening one day or another and without any “editorial program”.

as for myself (and as already said), I’m just a blues lover.

ps. I play the guitar (mostly in open G) and the harp.

pps. people call me gavagai.

if you feel like sending me an e-mail – gavagai@gavagai.ro.
